ABSTRACT

To investigate the research status and trends of application of objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) in medical education in China and globally, and to provide a reference for clinical teaching and medical education research. CNKI and Web of Science Core Collection were searched to identify journal articles related to OSCE published up to the present day. CtieSpace V software was used to visually analyze the research institutions, authors, highly cited literature, and keyword changes of the articles based on scientific knowledge maps. The overall number of publications on OSCE published in China and globally showed an increasing trend, but foreign publications were significantly more than Chinese publications. The institutions and authors were widely distributed. Comprehensive universities were the main institutions in foreign publications, with relatively little cooperation between each other. Domestic research primarily focused on medical education in the early stage, SP training and standardization in the middle stage, and clinical competence for resident physicians, nurses, and other clinical professionals in the late stage. Early foreign research focused mainly on medical education and clinical competence, while later research focused primarily on communication with patients and ability assessment. It is expected that future domestic research will focus on building clinical competence evaluation systems based on the OSCE model, while future foreign research will focus on patient communication and humanistic care assessment.

ABSTRACT

To explore the research hotspots and frontier directions of pyroptosis in the field of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM), the authors searched CNKI and Web of Science for literature related to pyroptosis in TCM, screened literature according to the search strategy and inclusion criteria, and analyzed the publication trend of the included literature. VOSviewer was used to draw author cooperation and keyword co-occurrence network diagrams, and CiteSpace was employed for keyword clustering, emergence, and timeline view. Finally, 507 Chinese literature and 464 English literature were included, and it was found that the number of Chinese and English literature was increasing rapidly year by year. The co-occurrence of the authors showed that in terms of Chinese literature, there was a representative research team composed of DU Guan-hua, WANG Shou-bao and FANG Lian-hua, and for English literature, the representative research team was composed of XIAO Xiao-he, BAI Zhao-fang and XU Guang. The network visualization of Chinese and English keywords revealed that inflammation, apoptosis, oxidative stress, autophagy, organ damage, fibrosis, atherosclerosis, and ischemia-reperfusion injury were the primary research diseases and pathological processes in TCM; berberine, resveratrol, puerarin, na-ringenin, astragaloside Ⅳ, and baicalin were the representative active ingredients; NLRP3/caspase-1/GSDMD, TLR4/NF-κB/NLRP3, and p38/MAPK signaling pathways were the main research pathways. Keyword clustering, emergence, and timeline analysis indicated that the pyroptosis research in TCM focused on the mechanism of TCM monomers and compounds intervening in diseases and pathological processes. Pyroptosis is a research hotspot in the area of TCM, and the current discussion mainly focuses on the mechanism of the therapeutic effect of TCM.

ABSTRACT

Background As emerging environmental contaminants with ecological risks, flame retardants (FRs) exhibit obvious toxicity and persistence. In recent years, as FRs have been widely detected in indoor environments and human samples, the human health risks after FRs exposure are of great concern. Objective To systematically understand the topic evolution, research status, progress, and development trends on the toxicity and health effects of FRs on humans worldwide. Methods We retrieved the literature regarding toxicity of FRs and their effects on human health through the Web of Science database from 2000 to 2020, screened and processed the literature using Endnote software, and analyzed annual publications, important citations, and authors. CiteSpace and VOSviewer were employed to draw co-citation network, keyword co-occurrence network, and keyword clustering map for bibliometric visualization analysis. Results From 2000 to 2020, 472 international papers on toxic effects and human health impacts of FRs were published. In terms of publication years, FRs-related research was mainly divided into three stages: the infancy and exploration stage (2001—2006), when the research on the toxic effects of FRs was just starting; the growth stage (2007—2015), when the risk assessments of FRs on human health were conducted; and the acceleration stage (2016—), when the studies have shifted to the mechanism of FRs damage to human health. In this field, China published the largest number of published articles in the world (177 papers), but the intermediary centrality (reflecting academic influence) was only 0.19, far lower than that of European and American countries such as the Netherlands (0.78), Britain (0.51), and Germany (0.44). Among the top 10 research institutions in terms of the number of articles published, the Chinese Academy of Sciences topped the list with 49 articles. Van der Veen and other researchers had a strong influence on the research of the toxic effects of phosphorous FRs since their papers published in 2012 were cited 1319 times and in the most prominent node in the literature co-citation network. The high-frequency keywords in the literature on the human health effects of FRs were polybrominated diphenyl ethers (217 times), brominated FRs (166 times), toxicity (147 times), FRs (102 times), exposure, polychlorinated biphenyls, in vitro experiment, plasticizer, etc. Through keyword clustering and co-occurrence analyses, it was found that current research is systematically exploring the toxic mechanism of FRs from a perspective integrating pollution source-exposure route-final receptor of pollutants, and is evaluating the environmental health risks via different exposure routes. The visualized bibliometric analysis findings suggested that future studies understand the underlying mechanisms of various cell damage caused by FRs toxicity, identify the key factors of change and their relationships, aiming to provide a scientific basis for targeted prevention of health effects of FRs. Conclusion The research hotspots on the toxic effects of FRs and their effects on human health have changed over time, and the breadth and depth have been increasing. The toxic effects of brominated/phosphorus FRs have always been the mainstream direction in this field. Further studies will focus on the molecular mechanisms of human toxicity after FRs exposure.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research and Jilin University are the most published journal and institution in this field, respectively. The authors of the literature form five major groups, but there is very little cooperation between the groups. (2) Keywords co-occurrence network shows that the contents revealed by keywords commonly clustering into four research topics (bone tissue engineering scaffold material, 3D printing technology and its application in orthopedics, 3D printing and joint replacement, and others) and the top 10 keywords (3D printing technology, computer aided technology, bone tissue engineering, tissue engineering, fracture, bone defect, hydroxyapatite, three-dimensional, replacement, titanium alloy) really reflect the present situation and the hotspots of current 3D printing and the bone tissue engineering research, which can provide a reference for researchers in this field when choosing a research direction.

ABSTRACT

Objective:Based on knowledge visualization analysis to explore the progress of diabetic cardiomyopathy from 2000 to 2020.Methods:Literatures related to diabetic cardiomyopathy indexed in Web of Sciences databases ranging from 2000 to 2020 were collected. Excel, VOSviewer, and CiteSpace 5.0.R1 software were used for visual analysis of countries, research institutions, authors, keywords and related citations. Results:A total of 2 536 articles were collected preliminarily. China has published the most articles in this field through visualization. A total of 909 related articles have been published in the past 20 years, and China has been closely communicated internationally. The United States and Canada ranked the second and the third respectively, totaling 723 and 201. For the distribution of research institutions, the University of Louisville ranked first with 86 articles. A few top high-impact authors, such as Lu Cai and Tan Yi, are from this institution and have published the most articles, indicating that the University of Louisville can be regarded as an international academic center in the field of diabetic cardiomyopathy. Domestic Jilin University and Shandong University followed, ranking the second and the third with 70 and 66 papers respectively. Keyword co-occurrence analysis shows that research hotspots in this field at home and abroad mainly focus on the investigation of the clinical manifestations and pathogenesis of diabetic cardiomyopathy. Finally, through the co-cited literature network, cluster #4 (SGLT-2 inhibitor) is still in evolvement. The development process shows that the treatment is a new trend in the field of diabetic cardiomyopathy research. Conclusions:Knowledge visualization analysis can visually exhibit the intellectual structure, evolution process, hotspots and trending in the field of diabetic cardiomyopathy research. The results showed that the main research power was located in the China, but the cooperation among personnel needs to be strengthened. The future research trend is mainly focused on the treatment of diabetic cardiomyopathy.

ABSTRACT

By searching the randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of acupuncture and moxibustion from CNKI since its inception date to december 31 of 2019, the development status and hot trend of RCTs of acupuncture and moxibustion in China were summarized. The CiteSpace and VOSviewer software were used to perform keyword co-occurrence analysis, clustering analysis, time-zone analysis and citation-burst analysis, and visual map was drawn. As a result, a total of 60 995 articles were included, which were published in 1027 academic journals with 1787 keywords. The publication date was from 1975 to 2019. During the past 45 years, the publications of RCTs on acupuncture and moxibustion had shown an overall growth trend with characteristics of the times. The RCTs of manual acupuncture ranked the top, and its proportion of publications every 5 years was stable in the past 30 years. Since 1994, the hot words such as electroacupuncture, warming needling, auricular point sticking and various acupoint therapies had emerged; meanwhile, the spectrum of diseases had broadened, and an evolutionary trend corresponding to therapies and disease systems had been formed. In recent decade, the RCTs using moxibustion therapy have increased significantly, and the hot words such as "sub-health" "winter diseases being treated in summer" and "acupoint application/ moxibustion during the dog days" had indicated that acupuncture clinical research was further inclined to the field of chronic disease prevention and health services, which was in line with social development and the needs of the times.

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze the characteristics of papers published in Organ Transplantation in the past ten years. Methods The academic papers published in Organ Transplantation from January 2010 to December 2019 were retrieved from China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI). The publication volume, the funded paper ratio, authors, research institutions and keywords were analyzed by information visualization software CiteSpace 5.3 and VOSviewer 1.6. Results From 2010 to 2019, a total of 919 academic papers were published in Organ Transplantation, with an average annual publication volume of 92, showing an overall stable trend. The funded paper ratio and the ratio of papers with funding support at the provincial level or above increased year by year, reaching 100% in 2019. High-yield authors mainly formed two research teams led by Shi Bingyi and Chen Guihua respectively. The first authors were distributed across China. In recent years, as many as 58 programmatic papers were published by national academic institutions, especially signed by Branch of Organ Transplantation of Chinese Medical Association. The average number of authors per paper was 4.94 in Organ Transplantation, and the proportion of papers contributed by two or more authors remained above 90% in recent years. According to the analysis of research institutions, the average number of institutions per paper was 1.60 in Organ Transplantation. Keyword co-occurrence network analysis demonstrated that liver transplantation, renal transplantation and organ transplantation were the research hotspots in the field of organ transplantation. Keyword cluster analysis showed that research mainly focused on 9 fields, such as liver transplantation, renal transplantation, organ transplantation, organ donation, posttransplantation complications, transplantation immunity, end-stage liver disease, xenotransplantation and stem cell transplantation. Keyword burst analysis showed that xenotransplantation, α-1, 3-galactose, transplantation immunity, apoptosis, donor specific antibody (DSA), antibody-mediated rejection (AMR) and flow cytometry were the research hotspots. Conclusions The authors that publish academic papers in Organ Transplantation come from major transplantation centers all over the country. The papers of Organ Transplantation cover the research hotspots of each branch in the field of organ transplantation, and include a large quantity of programmatic papers signed and published by national academic institutions, which show the frontier hotspots and the highest level of research in the field of organ transplantation in China, making Organ Transplantation an excellent academic journal.
